Norway Savings Bank is seeking an experienced individual to join our team as a
Trust Officer


Stepping into this role, you'll be responsible for the administration and service of investment management accounts, trusts, endowment funds, charitable accounts, and Individual Retirement Accounts.


  • You'll be the liaison for existing clientele, and will seek to expand these relationships through providing exemplary service with duties which include assessing current financial situations, advising, and delivering trust and investment services.
  • To maintain excellent customer relationships, you'll be a primary contact for beneficiaries by accepting requests, preparing documentation, and making recommendations for approval by TMIC.
  • In addition to nurturing existing accounts, you'll also seek to gain new relationships by networking with "Centers of Influence" through community and professional visibility, and will partner with Senior Trust Officers to develop the relationships on more complex trust beneficiaries.

Required Skills, Qualifications, and Education:


  • Bachelor's degree or higher in related field with a minimum of 710 years of experience in trust administration.
  • Hold CTFA or CFP designation.
  • Technological fluency with preferred aptitude in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Topnotch written and oral communication skills with a strong aptitude for public speaking
  • Exceptional internal and external customer service with demonstrated relationshipbuilding skills
  • Proven successes with maintaining, developing and expanding customer relationships
  • Strong attention to detail with strong analytical and problemsolving abilities
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong ability to prioritize and multitask in a fastpaced environment
  • Demonstrated sales ability and/or networking experience
  • Must possess a valid driver's license, the use of a serviceable automobile that is properly registered and proper liability automobile insurance as required by state law.

Essential Pieces of the Position:


  • Serves as the primary contact for the Bank's existing clientele which may include but is not limited to: assessing current financial situations, providing advisement, and delivering trust and investment services.
  • Expands existing relationships and seeks to obtain new relationships via networking with "Centers of Influence" and referrals from internal bank partners.
  • Communicates in a consistent and effective manner with clients, attorneys, and accountants regarding fiduciary, estate planning and tax issues. Maintains a high level of communications with all clients and prospects.
  • Utilizes fiduciary knowledge of trust law and regulations to analyze and carry out terms of trust documents. Remains abreast of current legal, regulatory and other issues affecting trust/asset management administration and operations.
  • Partners with Senior Trust Officer(s) to develop relationships with more complex trust beneficiaries and their attorneys, accountants and other professional team members.
  • Acts as primary contact for Trust beneficiaries, accepts requests, prepares documents, and makes recommendations for approval by TMIC.
  • Complies with established policies and procedures for all aspects of trust/asset management services. Develops new policies and procedures as necessary to meet Trust regulations and maintain Best Practices.
  • Utilizes the accounting system to develop, retrieve or collate information for customer responses. Prepares and presents information to clients.
  • Maintains an exemplary image when representing the Bank at community organizations and events.
  • Supports the AMG by setting up new accounts, preparing audit reports, preparing and processing cash work, paying client bills, preparing fund transfers, retrieving data, and know the requirements of the system for adding or removing assets, establishing recurring transactions and maintaining information.
