- Acquire and maintain comprehensive product and industry knowledge to effectively represent our materials.
- Identify architectural and design firms that align with our product offerings and target market.
- Expand existing business within the defined territory by nurturing relationships and providing exceptional customer service.
- Conduct product presentations, library updates, lunch & learns, and attend various industry events to engage with targeted firms.
- Provide the design community with specification documents, budgetary pricing, and samples as needed.
- Document all sales activities and customer interactions in the company CRM system.
- Generate material quotes for contractors/subcontractors and manage the sales process for projects in progress.
- Achieve specification sales goals and revenue targets set by the company.
- Follow up on assigned leads from outside the territory and identify opportunities for new business development.
- Develop relationships with commercial end-users to directly promote our materials and services.
- Provide monthly pipeline reports to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Document, track, and follow through on all known project specifications from initial spec to order completion.
- Actively participate in local chapter trade associations such as AIA, ASID, IIDA, CSI, etc., to stay connected with industry trends and opportunities.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Architecture, or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in specification sales within the building materials industry.
- Strong understanding of architectural and design processes, including knowledge of construction materials and specifications.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in CRM software
