    HPR partnered with a growing biotech company in NYC to recruit for an Assistant Controller position. This hands-on role encompasses all operational accounting tasks and the management of month-end close processes. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement.

    Responsibilities:

    • Manages daily accounting operations to ensure accurate and timely transaction recording.
    • Oversees the Accounts Payable function, ensuring invoices and T&E reports are processed promptly.
    • Directs the Accounts Receivable function to maintain an accurate aging schedule and ensure invoices are marked as paid.
    • Manages the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes for a global set of books.
    • Prepares consolidated financial statements and manages intercompany transactions, ensuring all activities reconcile.
    • Coordinates with external auditors and the internal Finance team for quarterly audits, ensuring timely submission of audit requests.
    • Conducts quarterly fluctuation analysis for the balance sheet and income statement.
    • Supports the external reporting team in preparing SEC filings like 10-Q and 10-K, and ensures accurate financial reporting in quarterly SEC reports.
    • Manages and maintains the companys financial systems, ensuring they interface correctly and meet company standards.
    • Assists in reviewing and maintaining SOX narratives with the external reporting team to ensure compliance with internal controls.
    • Provides training to accounting staff on finance systems and updates processes as needed.
    • Continuously assesses and improves financial processes, identifying areas for improvement.
    • Supports management with various requests and collaborates cross-functionally to enhance processes as the company scales.
    • Participates in ad-hoc projects and fulfills additional requests as needed.
