    Description

    We have partnered up with an up-and-coming biotech firm in NYC, teaming up to fill in an Assistant Controller role. This hands-on function involves managing all aspects of operational accounting and overseeing month-end closing procedures. The role comes with a mix of remote and in-office work.

    Position Responsibilities:

    • Overseeing day-to-day accounting operations to guarantee precise and timely recording of transactions.
    • Supervising Accounts Payable tasks to ensure swift processing of invoices and T&E reports.
    • Managing Accounts Receivable activities to uphold an accurate aging schedule and confirm invoice payments.
    • Leading the monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing processes for a global collection of accounts.
    • Preparing consolidated financial statements and overseeing intercompany transactions to guarantee reconciliation of all activities.
    • Coordinating with external auditors and the internal Finance department for quarterly audits, guaranteeing prompt submission of audit requests.
    • Performing quarterly variation analysis for the balance sheet and income statement.
    • Supporting the external reporting team in crafting SEC filings such as 10-Q and 10-K, and ensuring precise financial reporting in quarterly SEC reports.
    • Maintaining and managing the firm's financial systems, verifying their correct interfacing and compliance with company standards.
    • Aiding in reviewing and upholding SOX narratives with the external reporting unit to ensure internal control compliance.
    • Offering guidance to accounting staff on finance systems, adapting processes as required.
    • Continuously evaluating and enhancing financial procedures, pinpointing areas for advancement.
    • Backing management with diverse requisitions and collaborating across functions to refine processes during the firm's growth.
    • Taking part in special projects and meeting additional demands as necessary.
