    Company

    Our client is a boutique real estate investment and mortgage brokerage firm specializing in direct equity investment opportunities in real estate projects and traditional brokerage services for debt and equity transactions across all asset types. The company has expertise in all real estate types, including retail, multifamily, land, office, industrial, and healthcare, and capital structures, including joint venture equity, mezzanine debt, construction loans, bridge loans, and permanent fixed-rate mortgages.

    Role

    The Senior Investment Associate will work alongside the founder and be responsible for utilizing their knowledge of the market, their relationships, and the brand/resources of the company to arrange real estate financing (including debt and equity) as an intermediary for commercial real estate developers and investors. The Senior Investment Associate will also be responsible for the underwriting and diligence of the company's direct equity investments, with the ability to participate in those investments.

    The ideal candidate will have experience identifying, evaluating, structuring, and executing investment transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, and financing deals across all property types and investment structures. The primary focus will be on originating investment opportunities, building and maintaining client relationships, and providing strategic guidance to ensure the success of real estate investments.

    Responsibilities

    Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • The Senior Investment Associate will be responsible for new client development and origination along with structuring and placing debt and equity transactions on behalf of the firm's clients.
    • Developing complex financial cash flow models using MS Excel and Argus covering all aspects of the capital stack (debt, mezzanine, equity, JV Partnerships, etc.), including complex equity returns, IRR calculations, and waterfalls.
    • Gathering and evaluating detailed economic, demographic, and real estate market data on deals in the process.
    • Preparing presentations and offering memoranda and financial reports.
    • Reviewing and analyzing legal documents and other materials as part of the due diligence process or as part of ongoing property oversight.
    • Aiding in the preparation of proposals, presentations, and reports.
    • Conducting market research utilizing internal and external resources and self‐generated surveys.
    • Interacting with clients, prospective buyers, and investors.

    Qualifications

    • Previous experience with a real estate intermediary (or equivalent) structuring debt and equity transactions.
    • Strong financial/ analytical / modeling skills.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Be an independent worker with a team player attitude.
    • Possesses strong organizational skills.
    • Demonstrate a strong proficiency in financial modeling (using MS Excel) and MS Word.
    • 5 – 10 years of experience in real estate banking, brokerage, or related roles.
    • Strong track record of successfully originating and closing real estate transactions.
    • Extensive industry contacts and a deep understanding of the real estate market.
