    Description

    We have been selected to work with the largest community college district in the US. We are seeking exceptional talent to join their growing team, specifically for an Project Control Specialist in Monterey Park, CA. The college district consists of nine colleges that offer low-cost education and is the leader in environmentally responsible construction. It has been granted several awards in the fields of sustainability, management, design, and more.

    Position Description:

    • Ensure project budget and forecast integrity adheres to approved procedures.
    • Provide quality assurance to College functional staff regarding financial tracking and cost performance.
    • Analyze cost variances to identify trends and mitigate budget impacts.
    • Review and oversee monthly cost and progress reports.
    • Evaluate contract change orders and amendments for budget and timeline impact.
    • Verify accuracy of financial sections in Proposed Board Actions.
    • Review invoices for compliance and proper coding.
    • Ensure task orders, change orders, and amendments adhere to budget availability and accurate cost reporting.
    • Collaborate with technical leads to address budget-related issues.
    • Implement company policies for cost management of capital projects with multiple funding sources.
    • Provide financial information and support to College staff.
    • Serve as primary contact for financial matters for assigned College(s).
    • Travel to project locations as needed.
    • Present data to management in an organized manner.
    • Excellent communication skills required.
    • Adaptability to changing requirements and situations.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
    • Maintain professionalism in all communications and actions.
    • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

    Minimum Required Qualifications:

    • 3-5 years of professional experience in program and/or project controls in construction.
    • BS/BA Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field. Additional experience can substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
    • Experience throughout the project life cycle.
    • Knowledge of cost/schedule management theories, principles, and practices, including earned value management, change management, forecasting, and risk assessment.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Advanced Excel, Proliance, Data-Warehouse, or other relevant systems.
    • Experience with large capital programs and educational facilities.
