Hill International is seeking a Document Control Specialist (Levels I-III) in Los Angeles, California

  • Responsibilities include establish and maintain files; receive, index and scan documents. Types of project documents include correspondence, field memos, submittals, pay requests, drawing log, safety notices, RFIs, and photos. This includes internal teams and external to project participants distribution of correspondence, technical submittals, project reports, Requests for Information, and contract plans and specifications
  • Manages project documents, maintains both hard copy and electronic files, and coordinates the project files and administrative records for final closeout and retention
  • Collaborate with legal team to respond to administrative record requests and/or legal challenges
  • Prepare transmittals, distribute documents using Prolog, and retrieve documents
  • May be designated as a lead Document Control Technician on a project or element (Level III)
  • May be assigned training duties to train new staff on document controls procedures
  • Assist the Project Manager, the Construction Manager, and the Project Team in all matters relative to project documents and the control and distribution of documents
  • Process project documents and maintain document control files in accordance with project document control procedures. Document Control Support encompasses both electronic and hard copy distribution and filing.
  • 510 years or more of experience with document processing, data management, and document processing
  • Twoyear technical degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Certifications for document control professionals highly desirable
  • Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat experience
  • Experience with largescale Document Control Software is preferred, Prolog and/or Documentum highly desirable
  • Demonstrated experience with routine Document Control hardware and software, such as scanners, optical character recognition
  • Must be have a selfstarter attitude with proactive, resultsoriented focus; and willing and capable to assume additional responsibilities
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Must be able to interface with a variety of people with different technical levels and educational backgrounds; must be detailoriented and highly organized; and must be able to produce accurate and timely results while maintaining a positive customerservice attitude
  • Must possess a "cando" attitude: able to produce consistently accurate results at a fast pace
  • Must be detail oriented and highly organized Previous experience in a construction environment is preferred
The salary range for this position is $65,000-$110,000. The offered salary will be based on the applicants qualifications, education, experience and work location.
