Acts as a preceptor and mentor to support the development of nurses, students and other health care providers

Analyzes and utilizes data, including patient satisfaction data, QI data, other data relevant to specialty populations and incident report/safety net data, to identify opportunities for improvement and to develop a plan of action in order to improve outcomes.

Participates in personal professional development by maintaining required competencies, identifying learning needs and seeking appropriate educational offerings. Presents research and evidence based practice findings to unit staff. Participates in regional/national programs relevant to specialty practice. Develops departmental and hospital policies, procedures and standards based on the best available evidence.

- Basic computer competency, including the effective use of patient care devices, computers, computer software programs such as e-mail and word processing programs, and shared network file space.

- Master's Degree Enrollment in Clinical Nurse Specialist Graduate Program Required

A Brief Overview
In collaboration with the health care team, the Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) Fellow provides expert population based, family-centered clinical care and clinical consultation within her/his area of expertise to improve outcomes and to promote integrated health care that is safe, equitable, timely, effective, and efficient. The CNS Fellow will be part of a centralized CNS team, and work across the organization in interdisciplinary teams.
