    Data Engineer Streaming Specialist

    The Opportunity:

    Ever-expanding technology like IoT, machine learning, and artificial intelligence means that there's more structured and unstructured data available today than ever before. As a data engineer, you know that organizing big data can yield pivotal insights when it's gathered from disparate sources. We need a data professional like you to help our clients find answers in their big data to impact important missions-from fraud detection to cancer research to national intelligence.

    As a big data engineer at Booz Allen, you'll use your skills and experience to implement data engineering activities on some of the most mission-driven projects in the industry. You'll develop and deploy the pipelines and platforms that organize and make disparate data meaningful.

    Here, you'll work with a multi-disciplinary team of analysts, data engineers, developers, and data consumers in a fast-paced, agile environment. You'll sharpen your skills in analytical exploration and data examination while you support the assessment, design, developing, and maintenance of scalable platforms for your clients.

    You Have:

    • 2+ years of experience utilizing programming languages, including C++, Java, or Python
    • 2+ years of experience with messaging protocols, such as RTMP, MQTT, and AMQP
    • Experience designing and developing highly scalable and fault-tolerant streaming data pipelines and applications
    • Experience collecting, transforming, and storing streams of data from various sources, such as databases, sensors, mobile devices, and web apps
    • Experience building batch data pipelines to complement real-time streaming pipelines
    • Experience continuously monitoring and optimizing data streaming applications for performance, stability, and security
    • Experience implementing processes for failure recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery of streaming applications
    • Experience working closely with software engineers, data scientists, and business teams to understand streaming data needs and requirements
    • TS/SCI clearance
    • Bachelor's degree

    Nice If You Have:

    • 2+ years of Enterprise or Cloud IT experience
    • Experience with AWS services, including Amazon Aurora (PostgreSQL), Amazon RedShift, AWS Lambda, Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3), Amazon Kinesis, and Amazon Simple Queue Service (Amazon SQS)
    • Experience in building and deploying capabilities as Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with AWS CDK, and AWS CloudFormation
    • Experience using CI/CD (continuous integration/continuous delivery) workflows low to high across commercial and non-commercial AWS environments
    • Knowledge of architectural implications of meeting industry standards, such as ICD 503, NIST 800-53, and FEDRAMP
    • Ability to lead effectively across organizations
    • Possession of excellent verbal and written communications skills
    • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
    • AWS Certifications, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate or Professional, AWS Certified Data Analytics - Specialty, and AWS Certified Database

    Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $96,600.00 to $220, annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
