Avid Core is seeking a GIS Analyst/Specialist with experience utilizing geographic information systems to support a federal government client in Washington, D.C.

We're looking for a passionate, detail-oriented person interested in supporting an international global security program.


The position offers hybrid work flexibility, working from a home location and client location with the expectation of attending meetings at the client site in D.C.

as required.

Salary Range:
$80,000-$125,000, based on experience and qualifications.


Responsibilities:


  • Supports government operations to perform geographic information system activities; requirements analysis and development; support field activities; and ancillary activities required to acquire and deploy equipment and maintain facilities.
  • Supports the creation and maintenance of GIS products both printed and webbased solutions
  • Perform complex analysis and mapping projects to support international security operations
  • Communicate technical information to nontechnical computer users, both orally and in writing
  • Compile and enter various types of data into GIS databases
  • The products and deliverables vary from day to day with a steam stream of routine products and adhoc requests
  • Support development of Sharepoint, PowerBI tools, and informational databases.
  • Performs other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications/Skills:


  • Must have a strong understanding of GIS and database fundamentals
  • 5+ years of GIS experience supporting a Federal Agency
  • Experience in International support is preferred
  • Proficiency with the full Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint)
  • Exceptional editing and data analysis skills to ensure deliverables submitted to the client for final approval are errorfree
  • Experience with WebEx, Zoom, and other virtual meeting platforms
  • Experience analyzing data and developing Power BI tools and dashboards is a plus.
  • Ability to obtain public trust security clearance

Education:


  • BS/BA in GIS, Geography, Cartography, Computer Science or other related field w/ GIS experience
