    Job Description: Speech-Language Pathologist

    Location: Waterboro, Maine

    Position: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

    Job Type: Full-Time

    Overview: Waterboro Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team. The SLP will provide comprehensive speech and language services to students, helping them achieve their full academic potential and improve their communication skills.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify speech, language, and communication disorders in students.
    • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with speech and language needs.
    • Provide direct therapy services to students individually or in small groups.
    • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support student progress.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and services provided.
    • Participate in IEP meetings, providing expertise and recommendations for student support.
    • Conduct screenings and consultations as needed.
    • Stay current with best practices, research, and advancements in the field of speech-language pathology.
    • Provide training and support to teachers and other school staff regarding speech and language development and disorders.

    Qualifications:

    • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
    • Current Maine state license in Speech-Language Pathology.
    • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
    • Valid Maine Department of Education Certification for Speech-Language Pathologists.
    • Knowledge of IDEA and state and federal regulations governing special education.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
    • Experience in a school setting preferred, but not required.

    Required Licensure and Certifications:

    • Maine State License: Obtain and maintain a license to practice speech-language pathology in the state of Maine.
    • ASHA Certification: Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
    • Maine Department of Education Certification: Certification for Speech-Language Pathologists, which includes meeting all state educational requirements and passing relevant examinations.
