    Job Description: Speech-Language Pathologist

    Location: Biddeford, Maine

    Position: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

    Job Type: Full-Time

    Overview: Biddeford Public Schools is looking for a highly qualified Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team. The SLP will play a critical role in helping students overe speech and language barriers to reach their academic and personal potential.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Conduct thorough assessments to identify speech, language, and munication challenges in students.
    • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on each student's unique needs.
    • Provide direct speech and language therapy to students, both individually and in small groups.
    • Work closely with teachers, parents, and other school staff to monitor and support student progress.
    • Keep detailed records of assessments, treatment plans, and student progress.
    • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss and plan for student needs.
    • Conduct regular screenings and provide consultations as needed.
    • Stay current with advances in the field and apply best practices in therapy.
    • Offer training and support to school staff on speech and language development.

    Qualifications:

    • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
    • Current license to practice Speech-Language Pathology in the state of Maine.
    • Certificate of Clinical petence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
    • Maine Department of Education certification for Speech-Language Pathologists.
    • Strong understanding of IDEA and other relevant special education laws.
    • Excellent munication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
    • Experience in a school setting is preferred but not required.

    Required Licensure and Certifications:

    • Maine State License: Must hold and maintain a valid Speech-Language Pathology license in Maine.
    • ASHA Certification: Certificate of Clinical petence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
    • Maine Department of Education Certification: Certification for Speech-Language Pathologists, including meeting all state educational and testing requirements.
