Location: Biddeford, Maine

Position: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

Job Type: Full-Time

Overview: Biddeford Public Schools is looking for a highly qualified Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team. The SLP will play a critical role in helping students overe speech and language barriers to reach their academic and personal potential.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct thorough assessments to identify speech, language, and munication challenges in students.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on each student's unique needs.
Provide direct speech and language therapy to students, both individually and in small groups.
Work closely with teachers, parents, and other school staff to monitor and support student progress.
Keep detailed records of assessments, treatment plans, and student progress.
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss and plan for student needs.
Conduct regular screenings and provide consultations as needed.
Stay current with advances in the field and apply best practices in therapy.
Offer training and support to school staff on speech and language development.

Qualifications:

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
Current license to practice Speech-Language Pathology in the state of Maine.
Certificate of Clinical petence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
Maine Department of Education certification for Speech-Language Pathologists.
Strong understanding of IDEA and other relevant special education laws.
Excellent munication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Experience in a school setting is preferred but not required.

Required Licensure and Certifications:

Maine State License: Must hold and maintain a valid Speech-Language Pathology license in Maine.
ASHA Certification: Certificate of Clinical petence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
Maine Department of Education Certification: Certification for Speech-Language Pathologists, including meeting all state educational and testing requirements.
