Job Description: Speech-Language Pathologist

Location: Biddeford, Maine

Position: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

Job Type: Full-Time

Overview: Biddeford Public Schools is seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join their team and assist students in overcoming speech and language barriers to achieve academic and personal success.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify speech, language, and communication challenges in students
Create personalized treatment plans based on individual student needs
Deliver direct speech and language therapy to students individually and in small groups
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to monitor student progress
Maintain detailed records of assessments, treatment plans, and student advancements
Participate in team meetings to address student requirements
Carry out regular screenings and offer consultations as necessary
Keep updated on field advancements and apply best practices
Provide training and support to school staff on speech and language development

Qualifications:

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
Active Speech-Language Pathology license in Maine
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA
Maine Department of Education certification for Speech-Language Pathologists
Familiarity with IDEA and other relevant special education legislation
Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
Effective teamwork skills
Preference for school setting experience

Required Licensure and Certifications:

Maine State License: Valid Speech-Language Pathology license in Maine
ASHA Certification: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
Maine Department of Education Certification: Certification for Speech-Language Pathologists
