    Overview

    The Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory is looking for an experienced Budget Analyst to join its Business Operations Department. As the Budget Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting the Laboratory's budget activities by providing analytical and financial assistance to the Budget Director and Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

    Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL) is a renowned U.S. Department of Energy National Laboratory, managed by Princeton University, that has been a pioneer in fusion energy research.     Responsibilities

    Core Duties:

    • Conduct financial analysis and assist in budget formulation and execution processes.
    • Prepare financial schedules, reports, and analysis to support budget activities.
    • Collaborate with the Budget Director and CFO to provide necessary financial support.
    • Support Principal Investigators in proposal preparation and submission.
    • Handle Oracle system maintenance tasks for the Budget Office.
    • Assist in developing and updating Budget Office procedures and documents.
    • Complete any other assigned tasks efficiently.
    Qualifications

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or related field; MBA is a plus.
    • 5-8 years of experience in budgeting and accounting.
    • Experience with Oracle financials is advantageous.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Proficiency in developing and managing financial spreadsheets.
    • Strong grasp of Cost Accounting and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to analyze business decisions effectively.
    • Outstanding organizational skills to handle multiple tasks.
    • Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
    • Capability to establish good relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Independently research, interpret, and present data effectively.
    • Work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines when required.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google applications.
