    We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Trend/Merchandising Intern with a specific focus on trend research and forecasting. As a trend/merchandising Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the exciting world of trend analysis, forecasting, and merchandising, contributing to our company's success in staying ahead of the curve in the ever-evolving fashion industry.

    Responsibilities:

    • Trend Research: Conduct in-depth research and analysis of current and emerging fashion trends, both globally and locally. Stay updated on industry news, runway shows, trade shows, local retail stores, streetstyles and social media to identify upcoming trends.
    • Trend Forecasting: Utilize your research findings to develop accurate trend forecasts, providing valuable insights to our buying team. Collaborate with the buying team to align product assortment with forecasted trends.
    • Data Analysis: Collect and analyze sales data, customer feedback, and market trends to identify patterns and opportunities. Use this data to support trend forecasting decisions and make data-driven recommendations.
    • Collaboration: Work closely with the design, buying, merchandising, visual team to assist in the selection and procurement of merchandise that aligns with forecasted trends.
    • Presentation: Prepare and deliver trend presentations to internal teams, sharing your insights and recommendations. Communicate effectively to convey the rationale behind trend forecasts and their potential impact on our business.
    • Styling: Help track samples, and manage the styling closet. Participate in style outs, and help on set if needed.
    • Merchandising: Aid in the creation of assortment strategies. Provide art direction and references for editorial shoots. Aid merch team in gifting.

    Requirements:

    • Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in fashion trend forecasting, fashion design, fashion merchandising, textiles, or a related field.
    • Passion for Fashion: Demonstrated interest in fashion and a strong understanding of current and emerging trends. Stay updated on industry news, designers, local retail stores, influencers, and fashion publications.
    • Analytical Skills: Ability to gather, analyze, and interpret primary and secondary sources to identify trends and patterns. Proficiency in Excel or other data analysis tools is preferred.
    • Research Abilities: Strong research skills to gather information from various sources and synthesize it into actionable insights. Attention to detail is crucial in accurately identifying and forecasting trends.
    • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively present trend forecasts and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
    • Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
    • Team Player: Willingness to collaborate and contribute to a positive team dynamic. Openness to feedback and a proactive attitude towards learning and growth.

    Location: Los Angeles Part-Time or Full-Time College Credit Internship Opportunities. Monthly stipend provided.
