Description

The Fashion Design Assistant plays a key role in supporting the design team to create trendy and innovative clothing pieces, aligning with the brand's style.

Duties/Responsibilities

Collaborate closely with the Fashion Designer to brainstorm and sketch design concepts for new clothing lines.
Assist in market research to spot trends, styles, and fabrics that appeal to our audience.
Create detailed technical sketches and CADs using design software or traditional methods.
Help create mood boards, color schemes, and design presentations for reviews and approvals.
Contribute to crafting sample garments, including patternmaking.
Participate in fittings and adjustments to ensure garments fit perfectly and meet design standards.
Aid in sourcing fabrics, trims, and accessories from suppliers and maintaining material records.
Work with the production team to convey design specifications and address any production issues.
Organize and upkeep the design studio, overseeing samples, materials, and supplies.
Support the design team with administrative duties such as managing schedules, preparing design documents, and data entry.
Assist the Creative Director with assigned tasks.

Requirements/Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Fashion design, têxtile, fine arts, merchandising, or related field.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop).
Strong design and conceptual skills.
Basic knowledge of pattern-making and garment construction techniques.
Technical flat sketching and Tech Pack development.
Great sense of style and color.
Excellent time management and organization abilities.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to meet multiple deadlines.
Extensive knowledge of fashion design and industrial product development.
Passion for fashion and awareness of current and emerging trends in women's clothing.
Enthusiasm for creativity and learning in a fast-paced environment.
High level of creativity.
