- Rate Range: $30 - $45/hour (DOE)
- Location: Mount Vernon, WA
- Type: Contract-to-possible-Direct
- Automotive/marine electrical training with emphasis on vehicle/marine wiring systems including wiring system installation and service - especially around exhaust systems.
- Experience using test equipment commonly found in automotive shop (digital multimeter) for testing and troubleshooting.
- Experience reading and understanding engineering drawings.
- Experience reading electrical schematics and mechanical engineering drawings and ability to locate circuits and connections in a harness system.
- Ability to install and/or repair automotive style harnesses in a heavy-duty diesel truck.
- Prior experience with assembly of high current cabling such as battery cables or equivalent
- Familiarity with basic automotive hand tools (ratchets, sockets, wrenches) and torque requirements
- Computer literate: familiar and able to use e-mail and spreadsheets.
- Intranet based document storage (SharePoint) experience a plus.
- Good communication skills and ability to quickly adapt to priority changes. Ability to quickly learn and self-study is highly desired.
- Prior background or experience in automotive/marine electrical systems (low voltage DC systems) is highly desired.
- With supervision, able to locate. Assemble, install components needed to meet engineering drawing requirements (electrical/mechanical drawings).
- Assembly of high current battery cables.
- Once the assembly is complete, test the system for proper operation using test equipment such as a multimeter.
- Document and communicate results and progress using Windows applications (Outlook/Teams/Excel/Word).
- The job may require standing or walking most of the day. The individual should be able to lift 40 pounds. Repetitive hand motions are likely.
- Job will require working on, around, in, or under heavy duty trucks in a diesel truck shop with elevated noise levels.
- Safety shoes and glasses are required.
