    Description

    Akkodis is seeking a candidate for a Diesel Technician position with one of our Fortune 500 partners in the Automotive industry.

    A Diesel Technician position is available in Mount Vernon, WA.

    Wants somebody from construction side (heavy wheeled vehicles), no cars/trucks. Larger than humvees.

    - Must have 1 year relevant mechanical exp or 2 years including school

    The military equivalent of what we are looking for would be someone with "heavy wheeled vehicle" experience.

    Perform services, oil changes, nature inspection. Opportunity for other work as well (brakes, clutch adjustments, could be electric controls, hard to say at this point)

    Education/Training:

    Preferred Associates degree, but will look at someone without. Certificate of completion works. Military training. Need 1+ years truck exp.

    Pay Rate 30-40/hr with benefits

    Job Functions / Responsibilities

    · Prepare and maintain heavy duty diesel engines and vehicles for testing, including replacing components and

    installing data measurement equipment

    · Work closely with engineering staff to assure engines and vehicles are performing as requested during testing

    · Maintain, troubleshoot and repair test engines and vehicles

    · Maintain the highest level of documentation, work area cleanliness and organization

    · Perform duties safely and efficiently with minimal supervision

    · Flexibility, initiative and the willingness to respond to shifting time and project demands

    Qualifications & Skills

    · Associate in Technical Arts degree in Diesel Power Technology or equivalent

    · 2+ years relevant work experience to insure knowledge of engine and vehicle systems

    · Proficient troubleshooting skills in engine and vehicle systems

    · Applicants with a high attention to detail, very thorough, and are highly organized are sought after

    · Excellent mechanical aptitude

    · Welding and fabrication skills a plus

    · Current CDL a plus

    · Good computer skills – Microsoft Office software

    · Good communication skills

    · Must be self-directed with the ability to manage personal workload and alternate schedules

    · Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment
