Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced High-Level Estimator to join our dynamic team and lead the estimating efforts for transmission and distribution projects in the field across Oregon.
The High-Level Estimator will play a pivotal role in accurately assessing project costs, developing competitive bids, and providing strategic guidance to ensure the successful execution of projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the estimating process for transmission and distribution projects, from initial bid preparation through project award, leveraging industry expertise and best practices.
Conduct comprehensive material takeoffs, labor analyses, and cost estimates to accurately determine project costs and profitability.
Utilise estimating software and tools to prepare detailed cost estimates, proposals, and bid packages in alignment with client requirements and project objectives.
Evaluate subcontractor bids and proposals, negotiate terms and pricing, and select appropriate subcontractors to support project execution.Develop and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors to foster collaboration, enhance project opportunities, and support business growth.
Provide strategic guidance and recommendations to senior management on pricing strategies, risk assessments, and market trends to optimize project success and profitability.
Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client presentations to communicate project estimates, strategies, and value propositions effectively.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field. Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CEP, CPE, PMP) preferred.
Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in estimating, project management, or related roles, with a focus on transmission and distribution projects.
Proven track record of successfully estimating and securing large-scale transmission and distribution projects, preferably in the utilities or energy sector.
