- Lead the estimating process for transmission and distribution projects, from initial bid preparation through project award, leveraging industry expertise and best practices.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field supervisors to gather project requirements, scope of work, and technical specifications.
- Conduct comprehensive material takeoffs, labor analyses, and cost estimates to accurately determine project costs and profitability.
- Utilise estimating software and tools to prepare detailed cost estimates, proposals, and bid packages in alignment with client requirements and project objectives.
- Evaluate subcontractor bids and proposals, negotiate terms and pricing, and select appropriate subcontractors to support project execution.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors to foster collaboration, enhance project opportunities, and support business growth.
- Provide strategic guidance and recommendations to senior management on pricing strategies, risk assessments, and market trends to optimize project success and profitability.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client presentations to communicate project estimates, strategies, and value propositions effectively.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field. Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CEP, CPE, PMP) preferred.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in estimating, project management, or related roles, with a focus on transmission and distribution projects.
- Proven track record of successfully estimating and securing large-scale transmission and distribution projects, preferably in the utilities or energy sector.
