    FUNCTION

    This position directly oversees the Drop-In Program Operations at the Ali Forney Center. This role balances cultivating an environment where client care and support are centered while ensuring program operation needs such as program implementation, staff management, scheduling, and program deliverables are met.

    TOP RESPONSIBILITIES

    Program Development, Implementation, Compliance & Evaluation:

    ● Support program design in coordination with the Executive team, Drop-in team, and appropriate relevant programs in

    response to the Ali Forney Center's Mission.

    ● Lead and oversee the day-to-day of the Drop-In, including scheduling and logistics related to supply, space, and

    operational needs.

    ● Support the design and implementation of policies and protocols that center client, staff, and program needs.

    ● Engage youth in supportive programming to meet their needs and the outcomes of service contracts.

    ● Work with the program evaluation team to support data entry processes and outcome evaluations.

    ● Track and manage statistics relating to reporting requirements and submit reports to contract entities and supervisors.

    Staff Management:

    ● Directly supervise Intake & Outreach, Overnight, and Support Services departments.

    ● Oversee direct care staff through weekly meetings and direct observation.

    ● Be accessible to support the fast-paced work of the drop-in team, especially during crises, emergencies, or staff

    shortages.

    Client Engagement & Support:

    ● Encourage, listen to, and respond to client/ youth feedback.

    ● Facilitate and lead formal spaces for client feedback, such as the Client Advisory Board.

    ● Create, implement, and support formal avenues to receive youth feedback and participation in decision-making at the

    drop-in.

    Collaboration, Communication & Partnership:

    ● Lead Drop-in leadership meetings, treatment planning meetings, and other staff meetings while ensuring appropriate coordination of staff training.

    ● Collaborate with the Meals Department to meet the nutritional needs of clients.

    ● Collaborate with the Learning and Life Skills team to meet clients' vocational and educational needs.

    ● Collaborate with the Health and Wellness team to meet clients' physical, mental, emotional, and social needs.

    ● collaborate with community partners, build relationships with peer organizations to share best practices, and

    coordinate appropriate programming.

    ● Collaborate with Youth Advisory Board members to support and ensure clients are centered.

    Strategic Planning:

    ● Work with the agency's Development Department on the procurement of contracts; this includes supporting grant

    writing processes and ensuring staff voices, client needs, and overall agency values are centered.

    ● Stay informed on the trends impacting the NYC landscape around LGBTQ+ youth homelessness.

    EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

    [ ] High School [ ] Vocational Training [ X ] Undergraduate Degree [ ] Masters Degree

    Technical knowledge and competent communication and writing skills. Master's degree preferred in a human services-related field. Experience with drop-in services is strongly preferred.

    REQUIRED SKILLS

    Cultural consciousness and competency, Highly organized, Ability to multitask and manage different priorities under pressure, Ability to work independently and with others, Effective verbal and written communication. Effective computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite. Must have extensive knowledge of service delivery systems for homeless youth.

    PREFERRED QUALITIES

    Experience working with adolescent/young adult population and knowledge of LGBTQ issues preferred. Transgender & gender non-conforming people are encouraged to apply. Bilingual (Spanish/French) speaking are encouraged to apply.
