Position Summary:

The Painter is responsible for prepping and painting apartments or public areas in residences as directed by their supervisor.


Principal Responsibilities:


  • Prepare walls to remove cracks, stains, and other irregularities.
  • Help tenants move furniture and appliances, as needed, in order to paint.
  • Protect tenants' possessions by using drop cloths and other forms of protection.
  • Maintain a clean work environment during and at completion of a job. Remove debris to proper receptacles.
  • Plan work for maximum efficiency.
  • Maintain records and provide reports as requested by supervisor.

Competencies:


  • All manufacturer's instructions must be read and followed.
  • Must be able to work in a clean and orderly fashion.
  • Display courteousness to residents.
  • Work independently from start to finish.

Skill and Education:


  • Must have knowledge of the different types of paints and their uses and make recommendations for use.
  • Understand the different paints & tools of the trade for indoor or outdoor use and make recommendations.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Basic math skills

Physical Demands:

Required Constantly: Walking, sitting, grasping, bending, stooping, squatting, finger dexterity and coordination of hand, eye and foot.
Must be able to stand, run, climb, bend go up and down stairs and work on a ladder in performing these duties. Manufacturer's instructions must be read and followed.

Required Frequently: Standing and climbing stairs; carrying equipment up to 25-50 lbs. Reaching above the shoulder.

Required Occasionally: May be necessary to work for periods of time at noise levels above moderate or in wet or otherwise not normal conditions.


Special Requirements:
Will be required to work at various locations as directed by the supervisor.


Compensation:
$ $26.95 per hour
