Program and Operations Assistant


REPORTS TO:
Administrative and Operations Manager for Building Maintenance and Director of Programs (Programs)


POSITION TYPE:
Casual,Part-Time, Hourly, (including some nights and weekend shifts)
regular hours per week + potential additional hours (see below)

  • Sunday: 5:00 8:00 PM
  • Monday: 6:4 8:30 PM
  • Wednesday: 7:00 8:00 PM
  • Friday: 6:4 8:15 PM

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
$20/hour


Job Summary:


This employee will support the work of maintaining the church building and creating a safe environment in which our guests and renters can feel comfortable.

The operations components of the job primarily include door security for rental groups and one-off events and taking out the trash and recycling for the building.

Additionally, this position would serve as host or hostess to groups visiting or using the church space and will eventually require a full knowledge of the building, amenities, AV equipment and how to set up and break down each specific event.

You will report directly to the Operations Manager with instruction from the Community Ministries (CM) Program Director as needed.


CM Programs at All Angels' provide safety and support to those who are experiencing or recovering from homelessness with practical,compassionate care, encouragement and meaningful community.

Pathways is our flagship Drop in Program on Tuesdays/Thursdays, providing showers, meals, clothing, and social services referrals for guests.

On an on-call basis, this employee would be responsible for providing hospitality, security, and general operations support to CM programs (Pathways and Sunday evening meal).


On-call, Casual Position:


General Responsibilities:


  • Manage door security for rental groups and events
  • Enforce general church security and hospitality protocols, including monitoring the front security desk, cameras and ensuring the building is locked at the end of the evening
  • Answer any phone calls that come in during shift and direct to appropriate parties
  • Setup and Breakdown Events
  • Acquire event setup needs from Operations Manager
  • Possess a thorough knowledge of building inventory
  • Provide onsite support for events including setup and break down event space, emptying trash and cleaning up post event
  • Building Trash and Recycling
  • Collect and take out trash and recycling 3x per week and ensure the building is clean and locked with all lights off at the end of the night
  • Ability to help and assist with operations tasks as needed

Sunday, Church Maintenance (
Setup and Cleanup):

  • Provide dish washing services and kitchen support during Sunday Evening Community Meal, including assisting the CM Hospitality Manager with kitchen cleaning
  • Assist with the setup/cleanup of designated Sunday Serviceservices: (on call)
  • Setup/cleanup Palmer Hall, The sanctuary, Gym, Coffee hour, and Sunday Dinner
  • Assist teammates with general clean up, restocking, and basic security for 10:00am service and/or 5:00 pm Sunday service.

Program Inventory Assistance

  • Restock toiletries and shower supplies cart before each program day (on call as needed)
  • Assist Hospitality Manager in monitoring and organizing inventory of 1st Floor Pantry items (i.e. paper goods, plastic cutlery, dried foods, tablecloths, etc.)
  • Receiving food deliveries and donations when needed

CM Program Operations, Security, and Hospitality Substitutions (on call):

  • Provide hospitality, operations support, and security during Pathways operating hours (7am-2pm, Tuesdays and Thursdays
    ) as well as Community Meal (shift 12-8pm or 4-8pm)
  • Monitor building spaces and communicate any security concerns, guest removals, etc. to Program Director and CM Team members on duty as soon as they arise
  • In the event of a physical altercation or program disruption assist the Program Director in following conflict deescalation protocol by isolating the incident, moving the involved parties outside, moving bystanders to a safe area away from the incident, and calling 911 as needed
  • Provide general information about church ministries (particularly Community Ministries) to program guests and/or new church participants

Hospitality and Shower Program:


  • Responsible for the general maintenance of _Pathways _utilities such as heat, showers, coffee machines
  • Responsible for regulating shower checkin lists, monitoring time, toiletries distribution
  • Assist volunteers in the management of coffee station as needed
  • Assist with the setup/cleanup of _Pathways _dropin program and assist
    with clean up after _
    Pathways _
    ends on Tuesday/Thursday
  • Assist with the oversight of the 1st Floor Pantry and Coffee Station ensuring orderly organization and appearance
  • Possibly Assist with the setup/cleanup of CM special events: including Thanksgiving Dinner, Christmas Party, Fried Chicken Picnics,Volunteer Appreciations, training programs, etc.
