    Production Engineer

    Join the SLM Studio Team with Nikon SLM Solutions Americas. We are seeking a candidate who is passionate about metal additive manufacturing and helping a diverse range of customers on their additive manufacturing adoption journey. The position is based out of our new Center of Excellence in Long Beach, California to support customers across the Americas.

    COMPANY DESCRIPTION:

    Nikon SLM Solutions is a leading provider of metal based additive manufacturing technology, commonly referred to as 3D printers, utilizing selective laser melting powder bed fusion technology. Our 3D printers are designed to produce parts directly from a variety of metal powders. The customers for our metal based additive manufacturing systems come from various industries such as aerospace, energy, healthcare, and automotive. Headquartered in Lübeck Germany, Nikon SLM Solutions has more than 600 employees worldwide.

    POSITION DESCRIPTION:

    The Additive Manufacturing Production Engineer will ensure the production of SLM Parts with a focus on Quality, Time to deliver and cost. This Role is important for the overall planning of all SLM Uniqueness: manage entire demand of print jobs, secure prioritization of customer needs, internal needs. Other responsibilities include:

    • Production Planning and Demand Management for SLM machine park
    • Provide internal services (benchmark parts, measurements, central workshop, etc)
    • Operate and manage customer's equipment
    • Prepare build jobs, perform pre- and post-job control, document activities
    • Preparation and planning of production orders
    • Monitor KPIs, ensure quality, and document job operation
    • Implement and secure globally identical planning and production engineering processes
    • Support Customer communication

    CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor's/Master's degree in engineering or comparable qualification
    • 3+ years of relevant work experience, ideally in additive manufacturing and/or production/ engineering
    • Experience with conventional and additive manufacturing methods
    • Experience with Materialize Magics and the MS Power Platform desirable
    • You have a customer-oriented, self-confident and self-motivated way of working
    • You are a team player, especially in international teams, combined with a problem-solving "can do" attitude
