    Description
    The Cleveland Orchestra is looking for a

    Manager of Analysis & Reporting

    to assist in providing financial reporting, coordination of third-party investments, financial analysis, and reconciliation of accounts, among other services.

    The Manager of Analysis and Reporting will be proactive in learning the end-to-end financial flow of the organization, anticipating the needs of the organization, and assisting in long term planning.

    The incumbent will assist the VP, Finance & Administration and CFO in other areas as needed, such as operational and capital budgeting, and intra-year forecasting.

    This individual is an effective change leader, creating streamlined operations and procedures where efficiencies may be gained.


    Position responsibilities include the following:

    ANALYSIS

    Assist in maintaining the General Ledger by reconciling and analyzing accounts, challenging the accuracy of information when necessary, and preparing reconciliations and journal entries needed for period and year-end closings.

    Collaborate with other departments in analysis and metrics as needed.
    Oversee the analysis and reconciliation of revenue and expenses from agreements with third parties.
    Analyze and maintain a listing of fixed assets.

    Compile financial data and present financial analysis for internal use by CFO and/or VP, Finance & Administration, as well as for key stakeholders.

    Anticipate the needs of the department and organization when developing strategies for and providing analysis and metrics.

    REPORTING
    Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements, periodic forecasts, and the preparation and reporting for the annual budgets.
    Manage preparation of regular census and surveys.
    Prepare various external reports.
    Assist with the preparation of work papers for corporate and benefit plan audits and related tax returns.
    Prepare monthly sales tax returns, bi-monthly BWC payments and annual BWC true-up.
    Coordinate timing of financial information received from outside contractors.
    Anticipate the needs of department and organization when developing strategies for and providing financial reporting.

    INVESTMENTS


    Coordinate investment reporting between the Investment Advisors, Custodians, and independent fund managers to provide accurate internal and external reporting for endowment and pension funds.

    Maintain knowledge and understanding of all investment funds, their restrictions, and the related underlying endowment uses for purposes of internal reporting and knowledge of liquidity.

    Work with investment advisors and custodian to oversee preparation of subscription documents, purchase and sale documents, and other communications necessary for new and/or additional investments.

    Prepare quarterly pooled unitization calculation and reporting.

    OTHER
    Manage projects that align with the needs of the strategic plan, departments, or other stakeholders.
    Identify potential issues through performance of internal control procedures.
    Manage and ensure appropriate liability insurance policies are in place, including assistance with the annual policy applications and quotes.

    Identify, propose, and assist in implementing process improvements to generate efficiencies throughout the organization, including by playing a key role in the ongoing innovation of the Finance department's processes, procedures and controls.

    Serve as backup for other functions within the Finance Department, including Payroll.
    The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:

    Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting required.
    5+ years of accounting and/or financial experience, preferably in non-profit or public accounting.
    MBA or CPA preferred.
    Outstanding organizational skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
    Demonstrated project management, process improvement and change management ability.
    Demonstrated superior proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel, and financial database systems, such as GP Dynamics.
    Demonstrated independent, mature judgment and personal attributes of leadership, integrity, credibility, reliability and accountability.
    Exceptional analytical skills and financial acumen.
    Ability to work independently and as a strong team player.
    Ability to successfully prioritize to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
