Kitchen Assistant - Fairbanks, AK

Our Fairbanks Westmark Hotel and Conference Center team is looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join our Food & Beverage team. Where would we be without you, the Heart of the House? You set the tone for a safe and enjoyable experience for all team members and our guests.

Responsibilities:

To ensure that guests receive clean and spotless china, silverware and glassware.
To provide the cooks, server assistants, bartenders and servers with support and assistance.
Maintain a high level of cleanliness of kitchen facilities.
No supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements:

Minimum age of 18 years is required
Must pass a pre-employment background check.
Participates in HAP's sustainability program, aka "Sustain Alaska & the Yukon", and efforts by actively recycling (where available), reducing waste, and educating guests about our commitment to the environment.
Participate in HAP's safety culture to ensure a safe workplace for all team members and a safe vacation experience for all guests.
Dedicated to delivering excellent customer service to all guests, coworkers, and vendors.

Must be eligible to work in the United States. Holland America-Princess is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time (e.g., H-2B status).

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

Ability to regularly lift a minimum of 10-15 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, chemical instructions and procedure manuals.
Ability to prioritize work, maintain attention to time constraints, while working in a team or group environment.
Ability to support and comply with company policies, procedures and guidelines including all company health and safety standards.
Must be able to communicate effectively with customers and employees and problem solve.
Ability to stand/walk/work on feet for minimum of 8 hours per day.
