    AMDA College of the Performing Arts, with campuses in New York City and Hollywood, is one of the foremost post-secondary performing arts colleges in the country.

    AMDA offers various pathways for students to receive unparalleled performing arts education taught by world-class industry professionals, including Professional Conservatory Certificates as well as undergraduate and graduate degrees (Bachelor of Fine Arts, Bachelor of Arts, Associate of Occupational Studies, Master of Fine Arts and Master of Arts).

    We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Academic Project Manager to join our dynamic team.

    This role primarily supports the Office of the Provost but will collaborate closely with various academic departments including Academic Affairs, Academic Advising, Institutional Effectiveness, Institutional Research, Academic Services, the Registrar, and Extension Programs.

    The successful candidate will manage a range of strategic projects, spearheading efforts to enhance our academic offerings and institutional capabilities.


    Primary Responsibilities:
    Lead in the management of academic projects from conception through to completion.

    Collaborate with department heads, staff, and faculty to identify project needs and develop effective strategies for implementation.

    Prepare detailed project proposals, timelines, and budgets.

    Monitor project progress against goals, ensuring timely adjustments and reporting.

    Implement advanced data analysis and reporting techniques to inform decision-making and project adjustments.

    Serve as a liaison between the Provost's Office and other academic departments to ensure seamless communication and project integration.

    Organize and lead project meetings, providing clear and concise updates to stakeholders.

    Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation.

    Actively engage and manage expectations with stakeholders including students, incorporating their feedback into project planning.

    Ensure projects adhere to accreditation standards, legal regulations, and ethical guidelines, and implement quality control processes.

    Identify potential risks associated with projects and develop mitigation strategies to prevent disruptions.

    Coordinate training sessions for staff and faculty on new systems or processes resulting from project implementations.

    Evaluate completed projects to identify successful strategies and areas for improvement, fostering a culture of continuous enhancement.

    Assist the provost and academic leaders in aligning projects with the institution's strategic goals and long-term plans.

    Advocate for and support the integration of cutting-edge technology solutions to improve project outcomes and academic delivery.



    Qualifications:

    At least 5 years of project management experience.

    7+ years of project management experience preferred.


    Must have at least 3 years of experience directly in higher education settings, specifically in managing academic projects related to program development, curriculum integration, and accreditation processes.


    Experience working closely with high-level stakeholders such as deans, provosts, or academic vice presidents, providing strategic insights and support preferred.


    Graduate degree in one of the following fields (or a related field): Business Administration (MBA), Project Management, Education Leadership or Administration, Organizational Leadership, Data Science or Analytics, or Sociology or relevant experience.

    Proven experience in project management within higher education, especially in areas such as academic program development and accreditation processes.

    Strong command of data analysis and advanced reporting skills.

    Exceptional organizational, diplomatic, and communication skills.

    Highly proficient in IT and project management software.

    Experience with project management in a quickly moving/changing environment.

    Motivated and positive attitude, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.

    Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to negotiate and influence effectively.

    Ability to work effectively in a diverse environment, understanding and respecting different cultural backgrounds.

    Adept at handling multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

    Demonstrable experience leading project teams and managing cross-departmental initiatives.


    Background in managing projects within the arts, creative industries, or related fields, which can provide insight into the unique dynamics of a performing arts college preferred.


    Credentials such as PMP (Project Management Professional), PRINCE2, or Agile/Scrum Master certifications, which demonstrate a formal understanding of project management methodologies preferred.

    Proficiency in tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar, to enhance reporting and storytelling through data.


    Skills in writing proposals and securing funding from various sources, including government grants, to support academic projects and initiatives preferred.


    Position Information:
    The pay range for this position is $68,000 - $78,000 annually.

    This position is subject to a background check upon a conditional offer of employment and a reference check.

    This is a hybrid position with 20% in person and 80% remote. In-person versus remote work is scheduled based on department needs.
