This position will be responsible for work assignments related to bridge inspection, bridge load rating and analysis and all aspects of concrete/steel bridge and foundation design.
The Structural Design Engineer contributes to the creation of safe, reliable, and efficient structures that meet client specifications and adhere to relevant building codes and regulations.

Establish and maintain strong client relationships adhering to the Fisher Clientship philosophy.
Prepare bridge design plans and construction bid packages for NYSDOT, NYSTA and locally administered federal aid transportation projectsEffectively complete assignments related to bridge inspection, bridge load rating and analysis and all aspects of concrete/steel bridge and foundation design.
Coordinate and communicate effectively with clients, sub consultants and regulatory approving agenciesAssist with field inspections and reports for bridge and culvert inspectionsAttend project kick off meetings.
Research, understand and document jurisdictional requirementsDevelop creative and strategic design options that meet client's goalsComplete site feasibility studies as well as site and environmental analysisSchematic design, engineering systems coordination, site cost analysis, design developmentSpecification and materials researchDevelop plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates.
Develop detailed design plans, drawings, and specifications for bridges and related structures.Coordinate with reviewers and other disciplines to ensure accuracy and quality of work.
Proactively assist Project Managers, and Project Engineers and Group Manager.
Provide technical support during the construction phase, which may involve addressing design-related queries from contractors, conducting site visits, and reviewing construction progress to ensure it aligns with the design intent.
RequirementsEducation & ExperienceB.S.degree in Civil Engineering or related field (MS preferred years minimum of transportation experience, structures/bridge design experience preferred Professional Engineering License (PE) or ability to obtain it.
Experience with MS Office, MicroStation, STAAD, Bridge Design Software preferred.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesAspire to excellence, consistently seek to improve, and demonstrate high-quality work at all levels.
