    Job Description: Speech-Language Pathologist

    Location: Sanford, Maine

    Position: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

    Job Type: Full-Time

    Overview: Sanford School District is seeking a passionate and skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our educational team. The successful candidate will provide essential speech and language services to students, supporting their academic and social development through effective munication interventions.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Perform prehensive assessments to diagnose speech, language, and munication disorders.
    • Design and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each students needs.
    • Deliver direct speech and language therapy to students in individual or group settings.
    • Collaborate with educators, parents, and school staff to facilitate student progress.
    • Maintain detailed and accurate records of student evaluations, progress, and therapy sessions.
    • Participate in IEP meetings, offering expert insights and remendations.
    • Conduct screenings and provide consultations as necessary.
    • Stay informed about the latest developments in speech-language pathology to ensure the use of best practices.
    • Educate and support teachers and school staff on speech and language development issues.

    Qualifications:

    • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
    • Active Maine state license in Speech-Language Pathology.
    • Certificate of Clinical petence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
    • Valid certification from the Maine Department of Education for Speech-Language Pathologists.
    • prehensive understanding of IDEA and state and federal special education regulations.
    • Excellent interpersonal and munication skills.
    • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
    • Prior experience in a school environment is preferred but not mandatory.

    Required Licensure and Certifications:

    • Maine State License: Must hold and maintain a valid license to practice speech-language pathology in Maine.
    • ASHA Certification: Certificate of Clinical petence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
    • Maine Department of Education Certification: Certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist, meeting all state educational and examination requirements.
