- Acting as a subject matter expert on issues related to employment services, including an awareness of how wages impact public benefits,
- Developing policy and supporting implementation of such policy,
- Providing technical assistance and support to community-based programs,
- Developing and facilitating in-person and virtual training related to employment services and related topics,
- Collaborating with state partners on matters pertaining to employment services, psychiatric rehabilitation, and collaborative technical assistance,
- Conducting data analysis and preparing reports, and
- Presenting at conferences and in other forums.
- A master's degree and 2 or more years of experience in mental health, OR
- A bachelor's degree with 4 or more years of experience in mental health, OR
- An associate degree with 6 or more years of experience in mental health
- A valid NYS driver's license
- Experience includes practice in the area of psychiatric and/or vocational rehabilitation, and person-centered practices.
- Has general understanding of employment services and vocational rehabilitation models currently available in NYS, a familiarity with benefits advisement in relation to employment, how wages affect public benefits, and knowledge of NYESS and its associated resources.

The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene, Inc. (RFMH) is seeking a highly qualified candidate to work on a full-time basis in the position of Program Specialist at the New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH).
FUNCTION AND SCOPE
This position is dedicated to the promotion of Employment First principles and evidence-based practices such as Individual Placement and Support (IPS) and Supported Employment, with a particular focus on psychiatric rehabilitation and improving outcomes for individuals receiving mental health supports and services. The candidate should exhibit strong self-direction, excellent time management and prioritization skills, and have an ability to organize around competing demands. The selected candidate must also exhibit strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel) and virtual meeting platforms such as WebEx and Microsoft Teams. A successful candidate should also have strong written and verbal communication skills and feel comfortable representing OMH in a professional capacity.
