- Ensuring fair and equitable process through routine review and audit of employment actions
- Interpreting, communicating and applying federal and state regulations/guidelines and university policy to recruitment and selection processes
- Designing and delivering training and resource materials to various university groups and assisting with compiling data for various EEO/AA compliance related reports.
- Three years experience in human resources or recruitment and hiring or equal opportunity/affirmative action compliance
- Experience maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information
- Experience working effectively with and creating/maintaining effective relationships with a variety of community members. This includes the ability to problem solve, exercise good judgement and maintain a professional and personable demeanor
- Experience with discretionary decision making, independent problem solving and working closely and constructively with a wide variety of community members
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrated professional written communication skills, including the ability to draft, proofread and layout various documents for the intended audience and business English, spelling, composition, and grammar ability
- Demonstrated professional verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly and concisely explain guidelines and practices to others
- Experience developing and presenting training in both in person and virtual formats
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and manage relationships with multiple stakeholders with conflicting needs and timelines.
- Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer and related word processing, spreadsheet and database software
- Bachelor's degree in behavioral sciences, human resource management, communication, human relations, or education
- Experience in three (3) or more of the following areas: recruitment, classification, compensation, training and development, equal employment and affirmative action, reasonable accommodation, Fair Labor Standards Act
- Ability to learn and apply equal opportunity and affirmative action guidelines, principles and practices
- Demonstrated experience explaining and applying equal employment and affirmative action guidelines, principles and practices
- Experience operating a personal computer and related word processing, spreadsheet and database software
- Experience with applicant tracking systems
- Experience managing and improving complex administrative processes
