    LC State invites applications for the position of Accessibility Specialist

    Salary and rank based on experience and qualifications: $46,050 - $50,000

    Degree Required:

    • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university

    Required Qualifications:

    • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
    • Excellent customer service skills; proven ability to deal effectively with people in difficult situations

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Master's degree preferred.
    • Knowledge of the ADA, ADAAA, and sections 504 and 508 of the Rehabilitation Acts
    • Knowledge of LC State campus procedures and policies
    • Familiarity with medical paperwork, in relation to student accommodations

    Responsibilities:

    • Evaluate students for accommodations, process accommodations intake paperwork, using FERPA and confidentiality guidelines; maintain accurate and up-to-date student records, abiding by FERPA guidelines
    • Frequently communicate with faculty to ensure student accommodations are being met; provide training and document remediation
    • Coordinate with other campus offices/departments regarding student accommodations
    • Collaborate with Information Technology (IT) personnel to ensure website accessibility
    • Ensure accuracy and accessibility of the Accessibility Services website, in coordination with the designated Web Editor.
    • Inventory and distribute assistive technology for student use (echo pens, tablets, etc.)
    • Other duties as assigned [may be assigned timely short-term projects by Coordinator or Director]
