    Medical Office Specialists are health care professionals that will work in the front desk or office area of a healthcare provider's clinic to manage communications with patients, insurers, and medical staff.

    Medical Office Specialists must have the ability to communicate and interact well with the patients, providers and co-workers.

    Our Medical Office Specialist are key members of the STHS Clinics Team that will ensure that delivery of high-quality and cost-effective health care is consistent with the mission, vision and values of Universal Health Services.


    Position Summary:

    • The Medical Office Specialist (MOS) is responsible for front desk coverage for the medical practice which includes
    registration, check-in, collecting co-pays, scheduling appointments, billing patients, and scanning records into EMR,

    reports, and correspondence.


    • The MOS possesses medical terminology knowledge, organization and communication
    skills, ability to adapt to flexible work schedules and frequent interruptions, and professional appearance, all while

    maintaining a calm disposition, problem solving, and decision-making skills.


    • Reliable, tactful, honest and discreet in
    maintaining confidentiality at all times. Must be able to carry out specific assignments to successful conclusion.

    Independence Physician Management (IPM), a subsidiary of UHS, was formed in 2012 as the physician services unit of UHS. IPM develops and manages multi-specialty physician networks and urgent care clinics which align with UHS acute care facilities. It also provides select services for the Behavioral Health division of UHS. Through continuing growth, IPM operates in 11 markets across six states and the District of Columbia.

    Qualifications


    Requirements:

    • High school diploma or GED required
    • Completed a Medical Office Assistant/Specialist program or Medical Assistant
    • Must maintain CPR certification.
    • Minimum of one year of clinical experience required.
    • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems, and other office procedures and terminology.
    • Knowledge of electronic equipment, computer hardware and software, including applications and programming. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
