Conducting portions of a simple audit engagementTake client data and organize it, planning for auditEnter trial balance data into audit software for clientsSend clients participation lists, tailored to their organizationsReview files for other auditors, using a provided checklistPrepare nonprofit tax returns
Audit
Staff Accountant Requirements:0-2 years of professional experience in audit public accounting (recent graduates welcome to apply)Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related is required (must be eligible to sit for the CPA exam)A CPA or a candidate eligible to sit for the CPA exam is requiredPrior audit experience with government and/or non-profit entities is a plusGood understanding of audit accounting practices, GAAP guidelines, and Sarbanes-Oxley rulesComputer savvy with experience in Adobe Professional (PDF) and Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
Proficiency in CCH Engagement accounting software (or similar) or Citrix share file is a plusStrong work ethic with analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients and colleaguesAbility to work independently and as part of a teamWillingness to travel within Northern California for on-site audits (up to 10%-15%)
