    Description


    Pre-eminent, Fortune 500 NYC Real Estate Development & Investment Company is seeking a Property Controller for their expanding accounting department.


    Major responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Preparing audit work-papers and financial statements with footnotes
    • Preparing daily journal entries, month-end adjusting entries and general ledger
    • Maintaining a full set of books
    • Reconciling balance sheet accounts and providing support schedules
    • Preparing and analyzing monthly financial statements for properties/portfolio
    • Handling documentation and information requests from inside and outside the firm
    • Keeping abreast of current accounting developments affecting the company and industry
    • Reviewing payments and properly recording disbursements
    • Preparing management reports and spreadsheets
    • Special projects
    Job Information

    The right candidate should have:

    • BS in Accounting
    • CPA or parts passed a plus
    • 5-8 years' experience with a minimum of 3-5 years in a CPA firm with real estate industry exposure
    • Knowledge of GAAP and tax reporting
    • Familiarity with SFAS regulations and procedures
    • Strong computer skills with J.D. Edwards and Argus software experience a plus
    • Excellent organization skills with a strong attention to detail
    • Solid verbal and written communication skills
    All candidates must be authorized to work for any employer in the US
