    We are thrilled to introduce a novel program aimed at aiding gifted students requiring extra support in conventional classrooms. We are in search of a dedicated and seasoned Head Teacher/Program Lead to spearhead this project, with a specific focus on middle school students. This initiative is to be integrated within a mainstream private school catering to gifted students experiencing learning hindrances.

    This role is exclusively open to individuals with a minimum of 7 years of experience as a head teacher in a special education setting. Those who do not meet this criterion are kindly advised not to apply.

    Job Description:
    We are seeking a passionate Head Teacher to primarily engage with gifted students with learning support needs within a mainstream educational environment. Candidates should see themselves as mentors, eager to impart their passion for learning in subjects like ELA, science, and mathematics. Proficiency in supporting pragmatic language skills, particularly in writing, is crucial. The ideal candidate will have over 7 years of experience working with children aged 12-15 and specialized in addressing writing and executive function support needs that are beyond what traditional supportive schools offer.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead the implementation of the new gifted support program, ensuring seamless integration into the school.
    • Offer individualized support to gifted students, focusing on non-behavioral learning requirements.
    • Act as the primary liaison between program students and general teaching staff to facilitate effective support in regular classes.
    • Establish classroom routines for the program to address students' language and executive function needs.
    • Assist in the recruitment and training of Assistant Teachers.

    Qualifications & Skills:

    • Hold a Certificate or Master's Degree in Learning Disabilities, Special Education, or a related field, which is MANDATORY
    • Minimum of 7 years of experience working with children aged 12-16, particularly those with writing and executive function support requirements.
    • Strong knowledge in history, literature, philosophy, and STEM is advantageous.
    • Experience with Orton-Gillingham method.
    • Demonstrated ability to enhance students' writing skills.
    • Proven track record of assisting students with executive function disorders in their academic progress.
