    Description

    Looking for a Candidate to fill A BIG ROLE at a solid Transportation Company in the DFW Area:

    Director of Accounting & Administration will need to wear multiple hats. In addition to accounting function, we are looking for someone with a strong human resource, legal, risk management and compliance background.

    The successful candidate will have 10 – 15 years' experience in the logistics industry, preferably working in the asset/non-asset side of domestic transportation. The candidate will need to be a "hands on" type of manager and play a key role in communicating with senior management in strategic decision making and operations of the company.     Responsibilities:

    Human Resources, legal, risk management, compliance and administration:

    • Responsible for all HR functions, such as the recruiting process – assist in the creation of job the description and coordinating interviews with candidates (via recruiter(s)) and the proper company employee(s); employee training; assist in coaching and counseling; handling sensitive internal HR issues, including terminating employees
    • Update required HR materials (handbooks, policies and procedures)
    • Review all legal agreements
    • Insure the company is in compliance with the Company's compliance programs and appropriate training
    • Participate in the risk management review and coordinate the resolution of issues with the company's insurance dept. and the insurance broker
    • Participate in insurance claims activity, including reporting to senior management and creating policy and procedures
    • Accounting
      • Manage and participate in the month-end closing process, and the preparation of monthly financials
      • Participate in the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors and senior management
      • Update and implement necessary business policies and procedures
      • Effectively communicate and present critical financial matters to senior management
      Qualifications
      • Minimum-Accounting degree, ideally with an MBA/CPA
      • At least 10-15 years of experience, and a minimum of 7 years being involved in all areas stated above
      • Successful track record in setting priorities, keen analytic, organization and problem-solving skills which support and enable sound decision making
      • Excellent communication skills with the ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external individuals
      • A multi-tasker with the ability to wear many hats in a fast-pace environment
      • Experience with the accounting package - Microsoft Dynamics is a plus
      • Japanese speaking preferred but not required
