    BlackLine's Product Management team works at the intersection of business, design, and technology.

    Day-in and day-out, we work with customers and analysts to shape the roadmap, designers and engineers to build products, and sales/services to take our products to market and deliver value for our customers.

    The Director of Product Management, Platform designs and optimizes the department to achieve organizational objectives and building strong cross-departmental relationships.

    The director showcases thought leadership mastery through developing and implementing best practices.

    As the platform owner, you will be responsible for defining the vision, strategy and roadmap for platform products to deliver solutions that modernize the technology stack and improve scalability, reliability, operational cost, and engineering productivity.


    You'll Get To:

    Owns the vision and strategy for all areas of the Platform Product Portfolio, such as product configurations, product integrations, core components, design system, and connectivity frameworks, to meet business objectives.

    Ensures that the Platform strategy aligns with the business strategy and use that to set the appropriate short, mid, and long-term priorities for the platform organization.

    Leads a talented and diverse team of Product Managers and Designers across multiple locations and disciplines, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.

    Partners closely with the engineering and cloud teams to identify where platform can provide innovative ways of scaling, enhancing client experience, or providing better business outcomes.

    Define and track the key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics of the platform products, and use data-driven insights to inform product decisions and improvements.

    Provides leadership when problem areas are not clearly defined to establish plans, determine priorities, and prescribe the processes needed to achieve the objectives.

    Drives best practices, including business case, prioritization, Agile and other lean strategies to accelerate time-to-market and drive focus on the highest business impact.

    Partners with organizational subject matter experts to augment their understanding of business/customer needs.
    Drives alignment across cross-functional stakeholders for planning, delivery, and go to market for product initiatives.

    Define, maintain, and execute on Quarterly product roadmaps and multi-year product plans, balancing trade-offs between speed, quality, and value.

    Research and analyze the market trends, competitors, and best practices in the platform product domain, and identify new opportunities for innovation and differentiation.

    As a pivotal leader within the technology team, serve as a key proponent of our customer-centric, business-impactful, and proactive culture across the entire P&T organization.

    Technical/Specialized Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Experience in defining and executing on the delivery and go-to-market of platform level systems
    • Understand and explain technical systems and workflows, understanding limitations and communicating effectively with engineers
    • Experience in leading cross-functional teams
    • Ability to build lean canvasses to outline business cases and opportunities
    • Lead Agile processes and provide user story based requirements
    • Leads through influence, development, and motivation to change behavior within Product Management, Product Leadership, and cross-org / cross-departmental / cross-functional leadership
    • Determines and sets annual objectives and priorities for others consistent with overall longer term functional or business strategies. Within this context they optimize the use of resources.
    • Gets cross-organizational buy-in for decisions which affect other operating areas or functions normally require consultation and agreement before implementation.
    • Builds and maintains strategic partnerships with key decision makers internally and in customer organizations
    • Highly skilled in negotiation of critical and significant matters
    • Passion for learning new technologies and solving complex problems
