    General Manager (GM)/ Assistant Manager (AM) / Shift Lead

    Purpose:

    This role plays a crucial part in embodying our Judgement Free Zone values and aligning with our organizational objectives during every scheduled shift.


    Responsibilities:

    • Perform to the best of your abilities during designated work hours.
    • Monitor and upkeep cleanliness and ambiance of the club.
    • Ensure completion of all necessary training to operate safely and effectively.
    • Conduct regular inspections to uphold store presentation to Excel Standard.
    • Inspect and maintain cleanliness, complete assigned cleaning tasks, and re-inspect.
    • Process and Review Daily Club Activity Paperwork, file appropriately.
    • Audit and Balance Cash Drawers daily.
    • Update and Review Daily Club Reports, complete relevant Data Entry Documents.
    • Maintain clean Front entrance for a welcoming environment.
    • Adhere to company policies, address any minor violations.
    • Ensure a secure environment for all members.
    • Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with members.
    • Stock retail and promotional items for the next shift.
    • Perform daily club inspections, complete assigned cleaning sections.
    • Comply with company standards, audit daily paperwork, resolve customer issues.
    • Audit club inventory, communicate inventory needs to GM, AM, and Shift Lead.
    • Stay updated on required certifications and training.
    • Communicate with and assist prospects and potential members.
    • Support General Manager and Assistant Manager with promotions, training, and operational strategies.
    • Ensure Facility compliance with all legal and insurance requirements.
    • Assist members with equipment operation and procedures.

    Qualifications:

    • HS diploma or equivalent is required.
    • Familiarity with Excel's mission, values, vision, culture, and the Planet Fitness brand.
    • Excellent communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
    • Must be team-oriented, motivated, and well-organized.

    Work Environment:

    This position is based in a fitness club environment and regularly utilizes standard office equipment like computers, phones, etc. The noise level may be high on a regular basis.


    Physical Demands:

    The physical demands include talking, hearing, standing, walking, using hands, reaching, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, and lifting objects up to 75 pounds.

    Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, depth perception, etc.


    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
    This is a full-time or part-time, non-exempt position with varying working hours. The role may involve working evenings and weekends as required to meet business needs.
