Job Title: Career Vocational Evaluator

SUMMARY
Responsible for administering vocational and educational assessments to assist clients on public assistance.
The goal is to assist these clients with determining a vocational goal to find employment conducive to their functional abilities.
Provides group and one on one educational and vocational guidance services as well as job readiness classes, job club and supports to Ohana Nui events as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Facilitates and administers all required Diagnostic Vocational Evaluation (DVE) testing, recommends testing needs and methods for diagnostic and prognostic data.
Administers and interprets psychometric and occupational tests; develops and modifies testing instruments and methodologies to meet specialized participant needs; observes, records, and interprets participant behaviors and performances as they relate to the job market; and provides specialized vocational guidance and counseling to identify job interests and to help attain job-seeking skills.
Analyzes participant personal, work, and economic history; medical, educational, social and/or psychological data; and physical strengths and barriers to employment, BioPsychoSocial assessment (BPS) and Case Complexity in order to assist in determining viable vocational alternatives.
Develops comprehensive and integrative reports of findings and recommendations in the development of individualized vocational goals, objectives, plans, and additional service needs to determine job obtainment and retention.
Follows up with Career Navigators to assess needs and see if recommendations require revision in order to better meet the participant's needs.
The CVE reports directly to the Program Coordinator, and weekly meetings will be held to discuss program participants and performance outcomes.
Compiles, analyzes, and reports results of testing from all DVE tools, incorporating observations, case-notes, and professional opinion.Makes recommendations toward Individualized Service Plan (ISP) and employment and career goals in concert with Career Navigators.
Completes files on individual participants; completes all mandated forms and documents within time frame.
Facilitates Job Readiness and Preparedness classes as well as Job Clubs and all Ohana Nui initiatives.
Maintains records and coordinates all official file entries with FTW staff.
Works to ensure that all persons on public assistance with physical or psychiatric disabilities have equal opportunity to transition from welfare to work and that all program services accommodate and reflect participants' individual choice.
Attends and participates in meetings, staff development sessions and in-service training as assigned.
Provides guidance to interpreters regarding expectations and needs for interpretation during assessments.
Ability to deal effectively with unresponsive or uncooperative participants.
Assists participants to understand and overcome social, motivational, emotional, and other problems which could constitute a barrier to employment. Refer participants to outside resources as needed.
Responsible to understand and support CARF accreditation standards.
Assists with participant, employer and funder satisfaction surveys on a quarterly basis.
Possible travel with sensitive assessment and evaluation materials, ensuring that client confidentiality is maintained in accordance with contract, State, and Federal law including HIPAA.
Responsible for being aware of and adhering to all company and safety policies and procedures.
May be assigned other tasks and duties reasonably related to their job responsibilities.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalency with no less than one to two years' experience in employment or career counseling and evaluation or related field and demonstrable experience working directly with a diverse population in both an individual and class room setting.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or, diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
CPR Certification may be required as delegated by management.
