Reporting to the Sr. Vice President, Strategic Sourcing and Business Development, this position is responsible for specific aspects of strategic programs and business intelligence operations including managing day-to-day inquiries and tasks for this this business unit.
Blood Centers of America (BCA), a recognized leader in healthcare innovation, is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to join our Data & Analytics team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting member blood centers strategic programs and enhancing our market intelligence operations. You will manage daily operational inquiries, gather and prepare strategic market data, and develop analytical models and reporting tools to aid in strategic decision-making and business development.
Candidate should be detail-oriented and analytical. They must be able to identify and extract useful results from large amounts of data, as well as develop the methods by which that data is used. An understanding of statistics, data management, general analytics, market research, and research experience is preferred.
INCUMBENT CONTACTS:
Internally: Sr. Director, Strategic Advisory, Director, Strategic Sourcing
Externally: BCA Blood Center members, US Government entities and committees, Supplier partners, external consultants
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Conduct market research to support active projects and client initiatives;
Conducts data analysis, tracking and forecasting to predict trends and outcomes;
Support internal audits and perform quality assurance on raw data sources;
Monitor and report on member compliance with policies and procedures;
Own and develop relationship with partners, working with them to optimize and enhance integration;
Create and support development of PowerPoint presentations for internal and external use;
Provide high quality customer service and support at varying levels;
Communicate key insights and findings to team;
Translate analysis results to reports, slides and developer workflows;
Follow and establish new workflows based on data, analysis, developer and end-user requirements;
Implement & manage BI tools and dashboards that enhance data accessibility and visualization for stakeholders;
Train team members on new data tools and best practices in data analysis;
Stay current with industry trends and technologies to continuously improve skills and knowledge;
Assist in strategic planning efforts by providing data-driven insights and recommendations to guide decision-making processes;
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate business intelligence insights into broader organizational initiatives;
Engage in continuous learning to understand emerging tools and techniques that can improve data analysis and business intelligence processes;
Assists blood center staff with interpretation of needs/specifications and assists with implementation of new programs related to geospatial program through BCA agreements;
EDUCATION:
Bachelors degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Healthcare Administration, Genetics, Epidemiology, Public Health or related fields.
EXPERIENCE:
1 2 years experience preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Excellent oral and written communication with the ability to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical staff/management;
Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills;
Ability to work independently, in a team setting, with partners, and with the blood center members;
Adept at persuading and influencing behavior toward companys vision and program growth;
Strong and effective organizational skills and attention to detail;
Proficiency in Windows OS and Microsoft Office Suite; specifically Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Proficiency in PowerBI and familiarity with Azure.
Basic to intermediate skills in SQL and Python.
Experience with ESRI Suite and knowledge of Adobe Suite is advantageous.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONS:
Position is based at the Blood Centers of America headquarters in West Warwick, Rhode Island. Majority of work is by computer, phone and webcasts; up to 5% of overnight domestic travel may be required.
