General Summary:
Our Rhode Island site is looking for a motivated and hardworking Logistics Analyst to join its team The Logistics Analyst plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the chemical supply chain.
Their main responsibility is to analyze the performance of the logistics and supply chain processes and make recommendations for improvements.
They also provide backup for the Logistics Coordinator, assisting with the scheduling of product shipments both domestically and internationally. This includes managing import and export operations, completing order entries and material receipts, and maintaining relationships with vendors.Additionally, the Logistics Analyst provides backup for the Supply Chain Manager, working closely with various teams and suppliers to ensure the safe and reliable supply, storage, and distribution of chemicals.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure adequate raw material stocking levels against demand plan. Complete Toller auditing as required (inventory and safety). Manage day-to-day transactional issues with Tollers.
Recommend/evaluate potential tollers and tolling locations. Analyze/determine/implement optimized storage capacity at tollers and optimal transportation mode from manufacturers to tollers.
Logistics Services Management:
Track monthly logistics costs and report to business leadership. Integrate transactional shipment data into Demand Planning and Sales Costing Tools as required. Work through weekly reconciliation cycles. Complete the supply chain operations reference distribution incidents (as required).
Manage freight rates and assist with order processing, coordination of all transactions of goods to final destination. Work with export broker to resolve any issues related to shipments including documentation, discrepancies, expediting requirements, etc. Manage all issues regarding this process.
HSSE / Responsible Care:
Promote HSSE & RC policies, procedures, activities, practices and attitudes to promote a performance culture where the goal of preventing all recordable injuries and environmental incidents is embraced.
Supply Planning:
Work with chlorite customer service team to schedule new incoming customer orders. Complete daily updates of Supply Planning file. Communicate any scheduling adjustments with supply location. Track rail movements (outbound and return) to ensure efficient fleet management.
Analyze supply chain to optimize efficiency and reduce overall cost.
Chemical Source Management:
Attend weekly supply review meeting with ERCO source plants to review open orders, rail car availability, plant operations/issues and projected demand.
Packaging Source Management:
Secure packaging as required.
What You'll Bring to This Role:
Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain/Logistics or other related fields
2-3 years' experience in transportation within import/export industry is preferred
Training in Transportation of Dangerous Goods is an asset
Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills
High degree of integrity and professionalism
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
You are a team player and can manage priorities effectively
Salary Range
: 65-80k +bonus
