The Deduction Analyst investigates and analyzes outstanding customer deductions and /or chargebacks to determine if they are in compliance with the terms of the applicable agreement.

In this position, provide insight to Logistics, Customer Service, Sales, and Accounting on process improvements to organize, analyze, and validate deductions more effectively.

What You Do.

  • Identify deduction trends at the customer level and communicate such trends. Help to develop and implement recommendations to reduce the number and / or the amount of the deductions.
  • Take the lead role to audit broker records to ensure compliance with the Trade Management Policy
  • Use data and analytics to drive process and performance improvement within the deductions department.


  • Analysis of Deductions

  • Evaluate Logistics related charges to identify trends and share with the business units as appropriate (e.g., late truck fees, missed appointments, etc.)
  • Work with Deduction Specialists to identify "product shortages" on customer pickups where title transferred at time of pickup and followup as appropriate.
  • Oversee the process to validate approval and settlement of FSI deductions.
  • Evaluate opportunities to minimize the number of FSI deductions including coordination with FSI Pricing team and customers where appropriate.
  • Work with crossfunctional groups to identify process improvements, thus generating savings.
  • Develop adhoc reports, as needed, to provide data to internal teams.
  • Perform special projects as assigned.
Your Education and Experience.

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • Three years related work experience.
  • SAP experience is a plus
