- Assist and support the assigned Account Manager as directed in all aspects of account management and business development which may include but are not limited to the following:
- Initial review and vetting of RFQ's (Request for Quote)
- Writing internal or external announcements as required
- Coordination of Customer-requested information.
- Prepare proposals and presentations.
- Coordination and compilation of Customer Presentation packages
- Updating of weekly sales trackers
- Various document updates as required.
- Ensure electronic part files are kept up to date, this includes the initial setup of files.
- Accept incoming calls and inquiries and take appropriate action when assigned to support the Customer and Account Manager as required.
- Work with the Account Manager, accounting and plant personnel to assist with resolving commercial issues in a timely manner.
- Analysis of commercial issues and disputed charges
- Debit review and collection of information to resolve disputed amounts.
- Responsible for final review of Customer quotes including:
- Internal summary matrices for review and analysis
- Preparation of Customer quote documents for submission.
- Maintain and update the Computer filing system. This would include ensuring all computer documents, presentations, letters, updates, and other related documents were filed in the proper location on the computer for future use.
- This may include managing other house accounts (Customers) as required.
- Calculation of raw material adjustments, foreign exchange updates and other pricing adjustments as required.
- Develop and maintain relationships with Customers.
- Liaise with various departments to ensure Customer requirements are being met.
- Develop strategies to support growth and DBG's Five Year Sales Plan.
- Provide timely communication to Customers.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing.
- Work in compliance and conform to QMS, EMS and H&S standards, Policies, Objectives, Impact & Aspects and Hazard and Risks
- Any other duties as assigned by the Sales Manager
- Post-secondary education in a related field and/or equivalent experience.
- 4-6 years of account management.
- Being bilingual in Spanish would be an asset.
- Travel within Canada, the U.S., Mexico and possibly Europe.
- Experience in the manufacturing (metal stamping/fabrication) transportation industry preferred.
- OEM/Tier I experience would be an asset required.
- Daily contact with the Sales Manager, Sales team, and various other internal departments as required.
- Continuous Liaison with Plant Management Team and Customers.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Good judgement, planning and time management.
- Adaptability and strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent active listening skills.
- Ability to build rapport and collaborate with others within the company and externally.
