Job Summary:

A Cashier is responsible for maintaining outstanding customer service as per Company standards, processing sales quickly, accurately and efficiently, cash register operations and safeguarding company assets.

Essential Job Duties:
(these duties include, but are not limited to)

Ensure that each customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment, which includes greeting and acknowledging every customer, maintaining outstanding standards, solid product knowledge and all other aspects of customer service.
Maintain an awareness of all promotions and advertisements.
Describe products features and benefits
Answer customer queries regarding the store and merchandise as well as other events at the camp-resort.
Recognize and monitor security issues
Accurately and efficiently ring on registers and accurately maintain all cash and media at the registers.
Communicate customer requests to management.
Any other tasks as assigned from time to time by any manager.
Answer customers' questions, and provide information on procedures or policies.
Compute and record totals of transactions.
Count money in cash drawers at the beginning of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change.
Establish or identify prices of goods, services or admission, and tabulate bills using calculators, cash registers, or optical price scanners.
Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers.
Maintain clean and orderly checkout areas.
Process merchandise returns and exchanges.
Receive payment by cash, check, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits.
Resolve customer complaints, if unable to do so seek someone who can.
Post charges against guests' accounts.
Sell tickets and other items to customers.
Stock shelves, and mark prices on shelves and items.

Marginal Job Functions:

Ability to process information/merchandise through register system

Ability to communicate with associates and customers

Ability to read, count, and write to accurately complete all documentation

Ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job

Performs other duties as assigned

Work closely with management and fellow staff in developing a team that effectively represents the quality and professionalism of camp resort property, through use of professional communication including proper phone and in person interactions.

Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, however not required.

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively through both verbal and written venues

Specific training and /or experience in using a cash register system or POS (Point of Sale System)

Personable, enjoy working with children/people

Possess excellent organization and project management skills, leadership skills as well as the ability to manage and complete multiple tasks simultaneously.

Possess exceptional guest relations skills

Weekend hours are required

Physical Demands
This position is an extremely physically active position. Employee is regularly required to remain stationary, bend and stoop. Must be able to remain stationary for long periods of time, stoop, kneel, and crouch. Must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds. Employee is continuously using repetitive motion of the arms and hands. Must be able to reach overhead to get product.
