- Develop computational toxicology competencies within the Health Risk Assessment (HRA) Unit.

- The ability to identify and learn how to use new computational methodologies, data sets, computer modeling, and toxicological risk assessment approaches.
- Professional experience performing risk communication, planning and analysis work in the area of public health or environmental health programs or a related field.

Job Summary
Join our dynamic team at the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH), where your passion for public health can make a tangible impact on the well-being of all Minnesotans. MDH is currently seeking a Computational Toxicologist. This position provides expert knowledge and skills to incorporate New Approach Methodologies (NAMs), including large in vitro toxicological datasets, computational toxicological modeling into existing frameworks to develop health-based guidance. This work includes the research, evaluation, interpretation, and other activities in support of state-wide health-based guidance for toxic substances in water or other media so that the risk management decisions, policies, and practices of state agencies are scientifically sound and protective of public health.
Primary responsibilities include:
Qualifications

(4) Four years of analytical research and experience in a comprehensive program of study in one of the following areas:
*A Master's degree in toxicology, chemistry, biology, environmental sciences, pharmacology, data science, statistics, or other health sciences may substitute for eighteen (18) months of experience.
*A PhD in toxicology, chemistry, biology, environmental sciences, pharmacology, data science, statistics, or other health sciences may substitute for two (2) years of experience.
