    Description


    Mamajuana Cafe is seeking a talented and experienced bilingual in Spanish, Head Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for Latin fusion cuisine and a proven track record of culinary excellence in a fast-paced restaurant environment. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for leading our kitchen team, creating innovative and delicious dishes, maintaining food quality and safety standards, and ensuring a smooth and efficient operation.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Lead and manage the kitchen team, including hiring, training, and scheduling staff.
    2. Develop and update menus, incorporating seasonal ingredients and innovative dishes while maintaining the essence of Latin fusion cuisine.
    3. Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure high-quality and consistent dishes.
    4. Manage food inventory, ordering, and cost control to meet budgetary goals.
    5. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.
    6. Collaborate with the management team to create promotions, specials, and events to drive business and enhance the dining experience.
    7. Maintain a positive and professional working environment, fostering teamwork and communication among staff members.
    8. Stay current with industry trends, techniques, and ingredients to continually improve the menu and culinary offerings.
    9. Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and special requests related to food preparation and menu options.

    Qualifications:

    1. Minimum 5 years of experience as a Chef, with a focus on Latin fusion cuisine.
    2. Proven track record of culinary creativity and innovation.
    3. Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
    4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (bilingual in English/Spanish preferred).
    5. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
    6. Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
    7. Culinary degree or equivalent certification is preferred.
