Job Title:
Controller
Reports To:
Executive Vice President
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.
Perform all month-end closing responsibilities.Oversee and implement all systems for cycle and physical inventory counts.
Analyzes pricing structures and provides recommendations on profitability strategies.
Recommends benchmarks that will be used to measure the company's performance.
Work closely with purchasing departing to evaluate and approve purchase orders.
Regularly conduct trend analysis and share findings with management.
Work in coordination with the inventory control manager to assess and maintain accurate inventory counts in the accounting system.
Work with outside accounting firms to ensure timely filing of all taxes and other required financial documentation.
Maintain and transact all work-in-progress items.
Ensure timely calculation and payment of state sales tax.
Maintain and update fixed asset schedule when required.
Other duties as assigned.

Proficient in GAAP accounting methods.

Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Familiarity of inventory procedures, guidelines and best practices

Ability to effectively organize and present information,

Highly skilled at Microsoft Excel.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration or finance required. 3-5 years' experience in a controller or financial analysis related position.
Work Hours:
Monday-Friday 8 am – 5 pm

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands for computer data entry and talk or hear.
