The Demand Manager is responsible for working with corporate demand analysts and translating forecasts for the planning and execution of production, inventory, distribution and financial requirements.
They will lead the business unit's demand management process and ensures cross-functional consensus is reached on operation demand and inventory plans required to support customers service and revenue objectives.
Work to develop and improve strategies and processes that drive fill rate, working capital, and improved material margins.Major Responsibilities
Leads business demand management process and ensures cross-functional consensus is reached on operation demand and inventory plans
Collaborates with corporate demand planners and business unit's cross
- functional teams to develop and improve strategies and processes that drive fill rate, working capital and improved material margins
Provides recommendations on inventory strategies that will support upside revenue opportunities and fluctuations in model/mix by product line
Develops and maintains product configuration assumptions to help calculate demand units
Works with Product Management to understand New Product Introduction and End of Sale product transitions to seamlessly phase-in or phase-out within operations with mínimal risk.
Responsible for scheduling and releasing daily work by value stream that support a demand driven philosophy. Using capacity analysis, historical data, sales forecasts and product life cycle roadmaps as input to develop demand unit volume requirementsDesigns and directs the work of the team. Selects, coaches, and develops staff. Sets clear expectations to inspire and motivate the team. Manages performance by recognizing achievement, providing feedback, and administering progressive discipline when necessary.
Minimum Job Requirements
Education:
Bachelors Degree (preferably Business, mathematics, Statistics or Supply Chain Management) or equivalent experience
Work Experience: 5+ years of Demand Planning or related experience
3 + years of supervisory experience
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
ERP/MRP superuser: SAP, Oracle or JDEdward, demonstrated proficiency in statistics, forecasting and forecasting methods with an understanding of financial and operational impacts.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls.
The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion, the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
