    Description

    General Description of Duties:

    • Manage the day-to-day import business and oversees partnerships with our importers
    • Negotiate with importers, brokers, and carriers to schedule shipments and deliveries in a timely manner and ensure accountability for contracted rates
    • Partner with Purchasing Department to facilitate proactive planning to optimize inventory levels and associated costs
    • Ensure that communication between logistics services, purchasing, suppliers, shippers, distribution centers and carriers is timely and accurate by using cloud logistics platforms
    • Build relationships with internal/external partners based on collaboration, transparency, and integrity
    • EDI implementation and Vendor Help Desk
    • Prepare annual spend and budget structures
    • Prepare annual spend and budget structures
    • Support domestic transportation needs in concert with Director of Logistics, Logistics Team, purchasing, inventory/allocation, and finance
    • Support EDI implementation and execution
    • In concert with Director of Logistics, prepare annual spend and budget structures
    • Plan, schedule, track, and facilitate the movement of product via domestic ground transportation
    • Single point of contact for all things related to Store logistics: shipping, store to store transfers and RTVs
    • Recommend innovative ideas to Store management to improve merchandise handling procedures and productivity

    Requirements:

    • 2-3 years import experience, experience in the Asia & Mexico regions required
    • 3-5 years supply chain/transportation experience for a large retailer.
    • Vendor Management
    contracting, bidding and Service Level Management

    • Proficient in Microsoft office suite as well as technology such as Transportation Management Systems, Network modeling and Transportation optimization.
    • Must exhibit strong data analysis capabilities.
    • Ecommerce and Parcel experience required, Home Delivery experience a plus
    • Inbound Freight Management experience (Ground, Rail, LTL, Imports/Exports).
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Experience with cross functional teams, demonstrated strong interpersonal communications skills
    • A problem solver with the ability to perform in a fast-paced work environment
    • Outstanding organizational skills, attention to detail
    • Proven experience and performance implementing new systems and procedures
    • Proactive, problem-solving skills, positive team player
